This weekend course is designed for you as a member of QA/QC personnel, a welding inspector, welding engineer, welding co-ordinator, surveyor, or third party. The training will run two consecutive weekends (Saturdays and Sundays).

What will I learn?

While on this course you will learn about codes and standards, ASME IX introduction, ASME IX, QG – General, heat input, essential variables, non-essential variables, supplementary essential variables, mechanical properties, destructive testing and NDE, formulating welding procedures, QW procedure and WPS, training exercise WPS and PQR, welder qualification, welding performance and welders.

What will I leave with?

By the end of the course, you should be able to demonstrate that you can navigate through ASME IX as well as understand how a welding procedure is compiled against ASME IX and assessed for compliance to that standard/code.

What else should I know?

        ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
        In order to qualify for this course you must hold a current valid Senior Welding Inspector or International equivalent or hold a Certified Welding Inspector (3.1) with two years relevant verified work experience or International equivalent.

        Alternatively you should hold an HNC in Welding Fabrication or have been working in a quality control function related to welding activities with five years verified working experience - this could relate to a CSWIP 3.1 holder.

        This course is eligible for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credit hours.
