This course is designed to cater to a wide range of individuals, including testers, inspectors, engineers, and surveyors who need a comprehensive introduction to ultrasonic testing of welded joints. It's also suitable for those working in the aerospace industry, with specific content available under the Aerospace section.
The eLearning component of the course is part of a blended learning approach for Time of Flight Diffraction (ToFD) training. This approach combines online modules with practical classroom training, leading to certification to BS EN ISO 9712 standards. The online modules offer flexibility, allowing participants to study at their own pace and convenience.
The course structure separates the learning of fundamental concepts from instrument-specific training, incorporating interactive exercises focused on setup, calibration, acquisition, and data analysis. This logical training structure aids in understanding key concepts step by step.
In addition to the eLearning component, participants will attend 5 days of practical classroom training and examination as part of the Ultrasonic Testing course.
Note: For candidates interested in enrolling in a blended learning course, it's mandatory to provide access to the online material at least 30 days before the start of the classroom training. This requirement is non-negotiable, so it's essential to plan accordingly.
This course will cover:
The course covers a comprehensive range of topics including Time of Flight Diffraction (ToFD) theory and the principles of diffraction, the hardware used in ToFD such as pulsers, receivers, motor control, and encoders, techniques for ToFD data acquisition and interpretation, various applications of ToFD, equipment selection, calibration, and optimization, including optimizing PCS and angles, flaw location and sizing, understanding the limitations of detection and resolution, compliance with relevant codes and standards, and reporting procedures.
Training is conducted in strict accordance with the requirements outlined in ISO 9712 and culminates with a certification examination.
By the end of the course, you should be able to:
In addition to the eLearning element of the Time of Flight Diffraction training, you will then attend practical classroom training and examination for 5 days.
All candidates must be qualified to a minimum of BS EN ISO 9712 (CGSB/PCN) Level 2 Ultrasonic Testing.
The minimum required duration of training, which includes both theoretical and practical elements, is:
The minimum duration for experience before or following success in the qualification examination is:
All you need to do is book on the blended learning package in the same way as standard TES courses. Your payment will be taken in full. You will then receive an email with login and license details so that you can access eLearning. You will have 60 days from the first login to complete the eLearning part of the course before attending the classroom element.
