Is it for me?
Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) represents an advanced approach to non-destructive testing, utilizing ultrasonic probes with the capability to pulse elements individually at varied time intervals. Contrasted with traditional ultrasonics, PAUT offers enhanced probability of detection, increased speed, heightened reliability, and the provision of 2D or 3D imaging alongside a permanent inspection record generated through recorded data.
This program caters to experienced Level 2 certified ultrasonic technicians seeking to augment their expertise and obtain certification in phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT).
For those facing time constraints, we offer a blended learning alternative, allowing you to study theory and concepts at your convenience before participating in classroom sessions for hands-on practical experience.
What will I learn?
This training program covers the fundamental principles of phased array inspection, including an in-depth understanding of phased array probes, inspection sensitivity principles, and the operation of phased array instruments. Participants will gain proficiency in scanning techniques using phased array probes, as well as calibration procedures, and system checks. Additionally, the course will delve into software utilization for both data collection and analysis, focusing on principles of data analysis and familiarity with relevant software tools for defect detection and sizing. Students will also learn procedures for verifying flaw existence and position, as well as reporting methodologies.
Equipment commonly utilized during the course includes Olympus Omniscan equipment. For courses requiring specific equipment, please contact us to confirm the apparatus used for the event.
The training adheres to the standards outlined in BS EN ISO 9712 and culminates with a certification examination.
